Mission
We are committed to a high quality of life for all Camrose citizens, and to facilitate progressive development through responsible leadership.
Leadership includes fiscal, environmental, and social responsibilities.
On June 18, 2012, Council adopted the amended plan entitled Going Forward The Roadmap to 2015.
On March 6, 2013, Councillor Darryl Shillington presented the annual State of the City Address to attendees at the Camrose & District Chamber of Commerce general meeting. The new City Hall, Cargill and the Performing Arts Center were among the themes presented by the Councillor.
Council Responsibilities
The City Council is composed of elected officials whose principal role and responsibilities under the Municipal Government Act are:
- Developing and evaluating the policies and programs of the City.
- Making sure that the powers, duties, and functions of the City are appropriately carried out.
- Carrying out the powers, duties, and functions expressly given to it under this or any other legislation.
- Not to exercise a power or function, or perform a duty that is by this or another enactment or bylaw specifically assigned to the Chief Administrator Officer or a designated officer.
